Solving the workbook today, I discovered that I still have some difficulties with some basic topics of English, one of this are the quantifiers “any” and “some”. So I want to view this topic another time. I searched and here are my notes.
- Both are used before nouns. Obvious, because quantifiers quantify nouns!
| some | Affirmative sentences | I want some pencils |
| Questions, if the answer that you wish is a “yes” | Would you like some more water? Could I have some beer, please? | |
| any | Negative sentences. | He doesn’t have any friends in Viçosa. |
| Questions | Have you got any pencils? | |
| After words with negative meaning as “never”, “hardly”, “without” and others. | You never give me any support. |
In short, this is it! Enjoy!
I have until Friday for I give my workbook ready for the teacher. I think that I won´t get finishing it until there. I have a big problem. I prefer lose the points that do my tasks of whatever way and I only get doing the things when I want, I am willing. Let´s see if I get to do it until Friday.
Bye!
